As Jo Demmer, Andrea wrote a number of stage productions tackling social themes. In Nigeria, by request, she wrote about child trafficking, malaria, gambling, safety and heart disease. For Australia and Houston, she has written about family violence and expatriate life as well as a series of school productions.

We’re Going Where?, a musical comedy following the adventures of three expatriate families in Canada, Papua New Guinea and Nigeria respectively.
Jo’s school productions incorporate educational concepts. They allow for variation in the numbers of actors and to incorporate school performance groups such as cheer leading, dance and drama teams, and soloists.
At The Woodlands Preparatory School, Texas, USA, she produced:
- Fire It Up! (2011), an adventure traveling to each of the seven continents, and
- The Cup of Life (2010), a tale about rivals trying to steal the Cup of Life, an artifact which endows its owner with invincibility.
She has also developed Athena’s Workshop. A young woman inherits a derelict theatre from her estranged grandparents, unaware that it is now home to a group of runaway children
